Who I Am Not!
I am not a financial advisor. I don't work for a bank or an investment firm. I don't claim to be an expert in stocks. I am not selling anything but a few hours of my time.

I am and always will be a teacher.

Fresh out of Penn State University, I taught high school English in Hershey, PA. Then, at the U.S. Department of Education in Washington, DC, I traveled the country teaching college professionals and high school guidance counselors how the student financial aid regulations worked. Finally, I spent decades with one of the world's leading software providers for colleges and universities teaching our clients how to use our product.

Also, I am a consumer. And at first, I was not a very good one.

From the day I signed up for my first credit card at age 18 I made mistakes - financial decisions I regretted that took me years to undo. (Perhaps you adults out there can relate!) But over time I've learned so much through dealing with credit cards, cars, apartments, houses, careers, and everything else adulthood brings. Only, as you know, adulthood starts much too soon, as it did for me. Teens and young adults have the opportunity to make decisions now that greatly impact their financial futures. They could easily make the same mistakes I did.

Now I know what I'm doing. I have a rich understanding of how to budget, how to spend, how to handle banking and insurance and major purchases and other areas where a mistake or two can have a lasting impact. But I had to learn the hard way. Maybe you did too.

And that's where my teaching urge kicks in. What if I could help young people learn the lessons I wish I had learned? Make the decisions I wish I had made? Spend a few hours to be empowered to enter the world of countless choices with knowledge and confidence?

So I started this business with the hope of spreading facts, figures, lessons, and common sense to the population that is quickly inundated with ways to spend money. And maybe, just maybe, they'll open their wallets more wisely than I did mine.
